codec help please

Hi I downloaded the movie One Hour Photo (i got it through fast track movies.com).... It is a legit file and it is not corupted (i useds divx fix)
I cannot play it... I have Windows media player 7.1 and DivX 2.1 .... Ive downloaded just about all the codecs I could find... All I get Is sound but no Video. please help me I don't know what else to do.

actually I did read it... I downloaded the G spot program and it said I had all the correct codecs.. and as for the nandub I downloaded that too but the program is missing dll's.

Im sorry Im really stupid....
how to I play a movie in this program?
I don't even know how to use it
I also was messing around with virtual dub.. and I can get the
2 movies to play in that only! but I have the nessisary codecs! I have no Idea what is wrong.
god I hate computers!!!!!!!!

Thanks anyway I kindof solved my problem.... I downloaded
bs player and it plays them great

ffdshow is sort of a playback filter collection that is able to play codecs like divx3, 4 and 5, xvid, ms mpeg 4 and some more without having to install all those codecs.

all that one would have to do is download the latest ffdshow (alpha) and install it.

afterwards all your player will use ffdshow for playback.
