Frozen DIV

Hi people!
I'm obviously quite new here, wonder if you'd help me:

I'm new to div x, & I downloaded some Div x codecs for my files to play in Media player, OK? great.

the thing is each time I try to install the codec, it freezes! I thought "ok, basd download" but I used it on another pc & it was fine!
So, I don't know why DivX_311alpha keeps on freezing when I try to register the codec..

any ideas are very much appriciated..

Computer specs
What codec 3.11 sec ?
Did you install while running other applications (in the background)

I would go for a codec pack like, for instance, the Kristal codec Pack
This should install oke, try it and if this doesn't install either then come back with as much info as you can get your hands on
(also come back when it does work -maybe other people reading it can have some advantage out of it)

or go for the latest TSUNAMI filter pack 391, which can be found on my page.

it contains all common codecs and filters.
