DVD Making Help Please!!

Hi, I have 4 short movies for my university course that need to go onto DVD. Each is approx 40 mins long (not so short I know) Well Nero will not let me put all of them on, just a maximum of two. Is there anyway, apart from over priced DL discs, that I can fit all 4 onto one disc? The DL discs cost £9/$18 each and being a poor student, that is half of my food budget for a week!!

is it an avi source you're dealing with?

if so convert it to mpeg1/2 first
(hc enc is an excellent freeware for this job)

Sorry, I wanst very specific. I want to get the AVI files I have from Adobe Premier Pro, all onto a DVD that will play on at uni through a DVD player on a projector. I have them as standard AVI on my pc so DVD shrink will not work. I think that only works with vob files right?

Can you tell me what HC ENC is?? By converting them to mpeg 2 will it let me put all 4 onto the disc so it will play as a DVD??

I tried using WinMPG to convert them to MPEG 2 but it came up with lines all across the picture.

The files only come to 2GB in size.

Try LT columbo's tried and true method.

Get TMPGEnc Plus. Load your AVIs in and use the DVD wizard to make them into DVD compliant files. If you are happy with MPEG1 quality, you can use the freeware version called TMPGEnc (no plus).

After that you can use TMPGEnc. DVD Author to make chapter points and create IFOs. If you don't require chapters, IfoEdit can create the necessary IFO files to make a full DVD package. See here for guide.

I give up!!

I have tried TMPG plus and it says the video files are unsupported. I think I am just going to put them onto two sepearat disks and I will have to change them over. Somethingmy tutor will not be happy about but it isnt my fault. Thank you all for your help.

before you give up on this, go to top of program screen, "options", "environmental settings", "vfapi plugin" tab. right click "directshow multimedia file reader" ,"raise priority" do this 2 or 3 times untill it is one point higher then the highest value in there (probably 2).

i leave this like this always on mine, otherwise half the time i would get the same error...
