    my divxs arnt working on my yamada DVX6700

    i have got a yamada dvx 6700 to play my divxs on my tv (also for dvds)
    some of them play fine on it but some have problems playing the video or the sound does anyone know what is causing these problems and does anyone know what i have to do to my divx files for them to work on my player
    ps i do have the latest firmware for the player

    usually avi files are incompatible because they were encoded with certain settings (such as qpel, gmc, etc) that ruin compatibility. the only solution is to re-encode the video. use 'virtualdub' to re-encode with the divx codec, using one of the encoding profiles. they will ensure that your final result is compatible with any divx-certified standalone

      i have turned bidiretional off the good news it thet it works and takes much less time to convert the video

      the bad news it uses much more space

          you're not supposed to turn b-frames off - they should work fine with any player

          dont use gmc + 1/4pel + max 1 consecutive b-frame

          and if in doubt set the 4cc to dx50

            ok but is there a way to tell the settings that were used to encode a divx video i have a couple that are working fine with the b frames
