how do i get rid of pikelation when i convert vhs to dvd.i am capturing as a dvd(ntsc) file. then when i use nero express to make a dvd.it comes out pikelated. what am i doing wrong. do i need to add more memory, or change my cpu. please help. thanks my computer is a: athlon xp 1800 with 900 mb of memmory, 256 mb video card, winfast tv capture card, a sony dvd +/- writer, and 80 gig hard disc.

well, the bitrate is the decisive factor which the final size will rely on
i never used nero for any kind of video transcoding so i wont know what it offers or how crappy its results will look like
take a look at possible bitrate calculations within nero
how do you capture the tapes to your harddrive?
maybe there will be other ways to convert the material to dvd compliant formats besides neroComment

Try uncompressed AVI... that is the ultimate best quality. it is big tho, about 900 MB/minute.CYA Later:

im using winfast pvr to capture the files from svideo to hard disk.can you suggest a good dvd converter software other than using nero.
i can also try the uncompressed avi. but still need a good program for converting avi to dvd. any suggestions. thanks.Comment
