Stupid question but has been bugging me

I have been searching this and other forums for some time and find many users posts screenshots and other pictures. whenever i have tried to use forums to post these kinds of messages all it shows is my file location on my hard drive for instance:

[IMG]file:///C:/Documents%20and%20Settings/All%20Users/Documents/My%20Pictures/extreme_sports.jpg[/IMG]

I know this is a really stupid question but it's been bugging me.

BTW I tried searching for this topic but searches either came up too vague(500 responses unrelated) or no valid results.

That is not a stupid question it is one that had me going one night when I was new to the forum. I have been using http://imageshack.us/ to upload photos to ever since.

I had the same question, and PA also helped me out with the imageshack location, it works really good.

I did try but I gave up , I hate adding more software to my full HD

That works, imageshack come back to me with message that it was down for a few hours for maintence.
I was going to try to get it down tonight.
I'm sure it will eventually click.

I use a program called snagit for screen shots not free but has a free trial.

I love it, there is a lot you can do with it.
It was actually Tigerman8U that recomended it to me and I love it.

yeah image shack was down and quirky for a while today for me too.
