hello I have been doing some reading from this forum on bitsetting and I was wondering how can I test my dvds to see if they were changed to be seen as a dvdrom instead of dvd+r.

Put them in ImgBurn, switch to write mode and note the info in the top right panel.

By the way, your ImgBurn log should tell you when you verify.

Put disk in drive and open Nero's CD-DVD speed >disk info ...If you have Nero...

hello again I have tried imgburn to check my discs but I think i may be doing something wrong. I burnt a movie onto a dvd+rw disc and I used the the steps found on this forum on how to change the bitsetting or booktyping to dvdrom can someone tell me what i may be doing wrong. here are the results

What's wrong with that?

at the top it says Current Profile: DVD+RW

imgburn still knows it's a dvd+rw(otherwise it couldn't rewrite it)

but it also knows the booktype is dvd-rom, it's a trick for older players

so should I be reading at the top or where it says last recorded.

that part I quoted in the middle, which is not a burn log

you have to verify the disk to see it in a burn log

nero has that feature, too bad it doesn't format rw's very well
