    For anyone having the problem with nero saying your mpeg is not vcd compliant. In "settings" go to the last tab "System" i think it is. There is a pulldown list. Choose Mpeg1 vcd. That should cure your problem. I had the same.

      also worth a try is MGI videowave4 any avi file into VCD format nero works fine everytime including menu's etc..works a treat!!

        Another questions....anybody knows the difference/s between NTSC and PAL?
        Will the captured movie using NTSC format be formatted to PAL using TMPGEnc...if so, any difference with the original PAL captured file?

          the difference between pal and ntsc are as follows

          PAL 25fps NTSC 29fps... the resoultion of the two formats doesnt really matter after its been changed to 352 x 288 for VCD format or 480x576 for SVCD anyway..

          these are just two different ways of producing tv pics.
          most of Europe is PAL/SECAM and parts of asia including Hong Kong, Australia etc... USA is NTSC which also includes some parts of the middle east hope this helps guys!!!
