Thanks for that, but it gives me haedache, he he he
Is this something I can do with Nero or TMPGEnc???

Do you have any idea why this is happening at all? I mean, I haven't had problems with burning VCD's from .avi files before and like both you and me seem to have come to the conclusion with, it's really nothing wrong with the .avi file and the synch IS ok when playing it in the DivX player.

I have all the plug-in's needed, I guess, as I can watch my files and have burnt to make goof VCD's before...

I am very thankful for all your effort trying to help me, but I'm not really good as you seem to be with computers, so the last tip you gave me seem hard for me. I will try to look at your suggestions soon, cause now I'm totally devastated, ha ha ha...

    THANKS ONCE AGAIN!

bbmpeg is another little program for correcting
out of sync problems working with MPEG files

I suggested this one because I guess you are fed up
with running avi to mpeg conversions ending up with
an out of sync mpg file.

The method of rsquirell is performed with Tmpeg.

I have no idea why the out of sync problems still happens to you.
I guess you surley choose the PAL setting in Nero VCD.
Maybe there is a minor error in your avifile that I can´t detect right now. thats why I suggested remuxing and fixing the sound delay
of the mpeg file with the new program bbmpeg.

have you tried playing the finished VCD in your standalone player??? or with windvd or power dvd. do not use the windows media player to check.

if the result shows to be out of sync with these players as well

here is a step to step guide on how to do an avi to mpeg 1
      conversion.

      try also the old method.

If the audio is out-of-sync with equal delay from start to finish of movie. Try Womble MPEG-VCR. Their MPEG muxer had audio sync control. Download here:

If you're trying to eliminate sync issues, you shouldn't be anywhere Nero. Nero is known to cause its own sync issues, as is isn't designed for VCD, despite what the box says. (The developers will tell you this right out if you ask them...)

            Hi

I'll say this at the very start.
Bet it a VBR encoded audio. Can't, help.
Seems all new movies on the net have VBR (Variable BitRate) audio.

But let's not be that pesimistic. If your movie has linear sync. difference for example form the start to the end of the movie the sound is late 1 second, you can fix that in VirtualDub, set the skew pre/post start of audio.
If it's not linear, the start searching of the web on how to properly re-encode that VBR mp3 audio in the .avi file.

            Lots of luck.
