    No Sound - Please Help

Hi everyone, would very much appreciate help on my problem.

Im trying to convert a 4:3 DVD into a DiVX format. The video conversion works no problem. However, the audio in the VOB file extract is not converted when I use XMpeg to do the conversion.

When I open the IFO file using the XMPEG XIS DVD MISM method, the sound is displayed as "NOT SPECIFIED - LPCM audio". When I try to select audio in the project options its all greyed out and I cant select anything and it stays on "Dont Process Audio".

If I open up the VOB file I extracted to my HDD, and using PowerDVD XP there is sound, and it all works fine so the VOB files I ripped onto my HDD are ok.

Im totally confused and would genuinely appreciate help.

    Thanks.

your audio stream seems to be PCM/WAV not an ac3.

many tools like flask (and xmpeg is nothing but a derivate) simply cannot handle this (that's why gordianknot is a better choice imho, as you learn to hanlde video and audio separately and thus most efficiently).

    extract the pcm/wav usind DVD2AVI
then convert this wav to mp3 using e.g. besweet
