    hello to you all,

i can't believe this thread is still going strong after my initial post about the cartoons posted so many months ago...

now when my encoded cartoons got lines, i just deinterlace it through the bulit-in "smart deinterlace" function in virtualdub, and luckily, it has been working very fine most of the time.

many everyone for help. happy divxing!

Great to see you've got it all working now. It is also good to see that some of our old threads are still going strong.

The story is not finished yet: I changed my "old" GeForce4 Ti4600 with a brand new Hercules 9700 pro and the problem is still there, both in Windows ME and Windows XP!
      AGP aperture is 128 Mbytes.
The problem presents only when I playback DivX files, other AVI files don't give any problem.

OK! In a few weeks I will try DirectX 9. Will it help?

      Bye
This problem really puzzles me. Apparently, it is not a problem with the graphics card, rather your video settings. I suggest that you look for ANY setings that have anything to do with interlacing and disable it. If necessary, reinstall your DivX codecs as well.

        Dear Enchanter

I see your point of view: I too thought it could be a problem with the codecs, because all the other video files are correctly played, so I reinstalled DivX codecs more than once (I've the original pro codecs, not hacked), the problem still remains.
Moreover it is very strange that the problem is exactly the same both in Windows XP and Windows ME.
Today I will try to install the new DirectX 9.

        Bye and thank you

        Merry Christmas
