File Size problem (Expert Help Needed)

    Please read and understand.

I am encoding the Count of Monte Cristo, I want the final Divx file size to be 1400 MB. I am using 4.12 Divx codec ,radium audio codec, FlaskMPEG 6.0 (with the thunder.mism plug-in).

    1.-I ripped the .Vob files
2.-I found out the total time of the movie, so i can find the right video-bitrate. (using BitCalc bitrate calculator)
    a) Total movie time = 2:11:06
    b) Calculated video bitrate = 1330 Kbps
    c) Audio bitrate = 128 Kbps
3.-I opened the first .Vob file with the thunder.mism plugin in FlaskMPEG, and selected the audio track.
4.-I setup the audio to 128 Kbps and the video bitrate to 1330 Kbps, and i cropped the video image.
5.- Everthing looked perfect at that moment. So I decided to Flask it !!. Taking about 4 hours.

Problem---> After FlaskMPEG was done encoding the movie, I end up with a 874 MB movie (movie was complete), insted of a 1400 MB file size.

I double checked all the settings, I do not know what was wrong. I even try again with the same settings and the same results.

Why am i getting a 874 MB movie if all the settings point to a 1400 MB one ?

Please I will apreciate any help and suggestions.

a couple of movies simply reach the saturation easily, at which point a codec wont create bigger (i.e visibly better files)

if thats the case (i.e. if your video looks quite fine and does NOT show visible artefacts) you will NOT be able to increase the final size very much.

a little bit, however, could be possible by using the sharpest resizing filter (whatever flask might offer [i dont like that tool anyway]), by using hte biggest resolution (some 704 x XXX) and of course by spending some more on your audio stream.

when doing a 2cd rip with flask i was setting the bitrate at about 2500kbs even though the bitrate calculator said 1300kbs
