please tell me if i'm good at encoding

I made a cheap website that I'd very much would appreciate it if you visit and download a trailer I encoded.

Latest news coverage, email, free stock quotes, live scores and video are just the beginning. Discover more every day at Yahoo!

Post for ANY kind of comments, please

I will be posting other trailers too.

    Thank you for reading...

Little can be said by looking at that low a resolution (IVTC is obviously not an issue). But your cropping seems to be at bit off on the left and right. This probably decrease compressability by 2-3%.

And of course I don't agree with your choice of audio codec. IMHO lame vbr mp3 is a better choice.

      I understand completly

Right now I am encoding an anime trailer (Gasaraki)
I will try svcd type resolution (480) ,higher bitrate (2mbit), and ofcourse lame 96kbit ABR.

I am trying to make files as small as possible; I even tried audio at 32KHz

But Gasaraki is great for a proyect. It has alot of effects, a couple of fast scene changes and a great soundtrack.

For a beginner, I think this a great test.

I wish I could post the original VOBs from which I ripped them; then you could compare. Maybe I could upload to freedrive or something when I get DSL.

      What you think?

OGG vorbis isnt a good choice for divx audio. Ive tried working with it before with no success at all. While nandub offers muxing support for OGG Vorbis, but it crashed whenever i tried to use it. I also tried making an OGGmux file with no sucess as well. MP3 VBR seems to be the best you can do for now.

Ogg should not be used with the avi container.

Just because you can't figure out how to use it, does not mean that others should'nt try it. Just follow the guides at www.doom9.org

You will find how eye-opening reading new articles are and be surprised at what the Ogg Vorbis DS Implementation can do to OGM files...
