    Best VCD method?

    Heres my question. I record a VCD with Nero and it works on my Sony DVP-NS315 but not on my Sony DVP-S560D or my friends Apex(forgot the mod# but it is the newest silver one if that helps)
    Ive already tried different cd-r brands.
    Is there a more compatible program to burn the MPEGS?
    Please help!
    Oh yea and as for the DIVX part of my questions(Thought I posted in the wrong thread for a secound didnt you! ) I would like to ask this:
    How or with what, can I add a header or whatnot to a Divx movie to allow it to play on a stand alone that has VCD format support?
    I dont want to convert it first!
    thanku

        I don't know if you're being facetious or sincere, but that player's reference to "DIVX" is about a special format DVD Circuit City was trying to peddle several years ago (The DVDs became unplayable after a specified number of plays) - and NOTHING to do with the DivX-compressed .AVI files spoken of at these forums.

        That RCA player might make a good doorstop ;>}

          As far as your Sony DVP-S560D not playing your burned CD-Rs in VCD format, that's because it doesn't recognize CD-Rs (but will accept CD R/Ws) according to the information posted at VCDHelp.com:

            Yes, I knew that allready.
            I know how to encode to that format and the hacker way.
            Dont you?
            I assure you that both(if done with the right codec) will play on the RCA player that I speak of.
            Ive been encoding before all that.
            Why do you think c.c took them off the market?
            Iam shure you can go on the net and look up some phony bollony reason, but think about this
            divx dies and now we have vcd
            VCD=MORE CDR SPACE
            which of course equalls more sells and so on
            anywhich way I dont have the time to discuss this now.
            I work at IBM and have some things to get caught up on.

              Simply because they didn't sell...

              (The rest of your posting, Big Blue employee or otherwise, is A) of no interest to me and, B) confused and confusing, to say the least)

                Re-read all your posts on this form and you will find that most contradict most all posted. A real vid encoder wouldnt need to always look up asked questions on other sites, and wouldnt post so much. I mean where do you find the time? Hope your not dumb enuff to encode when on-line(I dont need to tell you the possiable problems you might run into because of that do I?) So please dont come off to me or others like a big shot because you seem to be nothing but a search and post junkie to me.
                Thank you for nothing setarip! Your services of looking things up on allready commonly sites are no longer needed! Your new screen name should be ASk-JEeVes. Its almost like you are just tring to see how many posts you can rack up! Well go ahead and post your meaningless complaint here! Dont see why you would want to because its not important to you right!?

                Do us all a favor and switch back to vhs you ****in LAMER!

                  we may all have different point of views and opinions and this makes it an interesting community, but i would kindly ask all of you to NOT get too personal in public.

                  please do respect that.

                    Whoa. Chills, man. That sort of behaviour is not tolerated in this forum. If you wish to do so, do it via the PM system...

                    Just clarifying something. It's not going to pose any problem. Browsing online takes very little resources (unless you are running a pre-pentium system, in which case you SHOULD NOT be encoding video in the first place).

                      It does make an amusing read for the rest of us

                      And you have got to give sinistermoon some credit, never have I seen anyone pack so many misconceptions into a single thread. I suppose some people will only listen to what they want to hear.

                          Sometimes the best "garments" are a thick skin, a broad smile, and a modicum of sympathy...
