PowerVCR II v3.0 HELP ME !!!!!

    Hi,
I'm using Cyberlink PowerVCR II v3.0 to capture video and audio from my VCR. The quality is perfect but the files are in VERY STRANGE MPEG2 format !?!?!?
Non of the well known encoders is able to convert the files in DivX (or any other format) !!!
Only DVD2AVI is able to convert it right but it don't convert the Audio , but only copis it in separete file!! The file is with MPA extension and I tried anithing to convert it but no luck
    Someone Help???

    Good morning,

I have a similar problem when converting from a miniDV camera to DivX. In brief, Nandub can do the job provided you first convert the MPEG1 layer 2 audio file to MPEG1 layer 3 (i.e. MP3).
Check out my page on http://users.pandora.be/stefaan.jans...perimenten.htm

    Have a nice day,

    Stef

PS : what hardware do you have to capture the video ? I'm thinking of buying a hauppauge WinTV PVR which has MPEG2 hardware compression, but I think I may just as well purchase a cheaper card.

Have you tried TMPGEnc (v.1.2xx - v.2.xxx) with the VFAPI plugin installed?

        Hi Stefke

        My System is:

        Soltek SL75DRV (KT266)
        Athlon 850 (running at 1000MHz)
256 MB Micron DDR RAM running on quite impresive BOIS settings
Gigabyte GV-GF2010 (Geforce 2 Pro 64 MB DDR) It is FAST !!!
And for capturing A Prolink PixelView PV878P+ rev 4E

Yes it is an ordinary TV tuner Card but one hell out of a picture!!!
I'm compressing LIVE (at PAL 25fps) in 720x576 with all the quality enh. features of PowerVCR II v3.0.

By the way I'm on Windows XP and maybe this gives the nesesery power for live capturing !

By the way there is a pach for XP compatibility on Cyberlink's WEB site.

        Sorry for bad English!
