playback? encoding?

Hi I was watching over a couple of Div-x that I have past made and something very strange has happened
I have severe problems with my playback for some reason now
Every movie keeps on jamming up or lagging up
and if move around the movie the sound goes fully off
I didnt have any of these problems when i made them initially
how come this has happened?
is it my PC or is it my encoding?

i guess it'll be your system and drivers/codecs/filters

Have you tried reinstalling your soundcard driver and restarting? DirectX is worth reinstalling too.
