Problems with AC3 sound in AVI file! PLEASE HELP?

    Hi friends,

I am new in the forum in making DiVX films from DVD disks. I made films with DVD2AVI tool. The Video AVI and
AC3 sound are demuxed sepparetely. After the compresiingt all is O.K. the sound is AC3 (Dolby Digital) and I can
hear it by my Audio Card in all 5.1 chanels (trow Optical SPDIF to my Receiver wich has built in Dolby and DTS decoders).
The problem arrise when I muxed the AVI (Video file) with AC3 file. The output file I can not hear in AC3
(hear only stereo sound) format with any players wich I have - from MicroDVD, Rad... to InterVideo WinDVD Platinium.
When I play the muxed AVI file on Media Player the Moonlite Decoda Filter shows that the sound is Dolby Digital 5.1 but
I receive (trow my Sond Blaster Optical SPDIF) only stereo signal.
I think that the problem is in decoders or Players...

    Please Help,

    Best Regards
    Joseph

In which AC3 filter do you use ?

There is a new AC3 Filter that you can download here:

(uninstall the ac3 filter that you have before installing the new one)

After instaling the AC3 filter go to START-->PROGRAMS-->AC3FILTER-->AC3FILTER Config , in the main tab you will see a Speackers Output that seted on 2\0 stereo option and you should set it to SPDIF option and that's it !

Tell me if it works for you (I have never tried that )

Thank you I will try it.
At the moment I am using Moonlight Odio Decoda filter. When the film starts on Properties on this filter I see that the sound is AC3 (I only receive 2 channal Stereo). The problem is that when I click on enable SPDIF and Appl button - nothing happenes. When I restart the Media palyer it shows error - Unavailable to load Appropriate Decoder and there is no sound at all. After installing of Moonlight again the sound is Stereo again.
      Where is the problem?

I have just tried the AC3 filter. It is working fine - but only in 2 channels Stereo.
When I try to switch on SPDIF the filter revers the option to 2 speakers. So only this line - 2/0 Stereo is avalable.
        Where is the problem?

Use in the 6.4 version of media player

You will find it in C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player\mplayer2.exe .

You need to open an AVI Movie with ac3 sound !
Open the movie in 6.4 media player, In the player click left button ->Properties->advanced ...

You will see the AC3 Filter click on it and properties, Now change to SPDIF , It's work now ?

sorry guys, didnt mean to be rude, but the 0.63b DOES NOT SUPPORT SPDIF

use tsunamis filterpack 397, install it via custom routine, keep all defaults and you should have the intervideo audio decoder 2.0 installed which works fine.

ok. I am switching my thoughts about nimo or tsunami now because of a certain incident. But where {specifically} can I download tsunami? not google because that had little results and weren't very good.
