you can get the tsunami codec and filter pack from UncasMS' website, and:
Load the file into virtualdub
1) File-->File Information
2) Post here everything you see (a screen capture would be nice)
If it is a screen capture, remember to make it .jpg and under 100k! -
You need the TFM audio filter in the Nimo Codec pack. Then yo can watch it. It comes out with 5 channel audio and I can't convert it in virtual dub. Any one know why. I have the Ac3 codec but it says Unknown tag 2000 I cannot covert it to burn Anyone know why???Comment

it is a BAD idea to have nimo and tsunami installed together, as they cause LOTS of conflicts. Tsunami is better (newer and more stable) at dealing with codec conflicts. Nimo seems to cause lots of conflicts.Comment

Should I uninstall Nimo then?? What version of Tsunami should I install then. Mini or Full?? Thanks for the reply. I'm having trouble converting this to VCD with Tmpge I can play and watch it but I cannot convert the audio. I have tried raising the evironment settings on tmpge and that does not work. any idea?? ThanksComment

uninstall nimo FIRST. then get the Tsunami filter/codec pack from uncasms' website. I would choose full because there is no reason not to (unless you cant download 11-16MB)Comment

Should I dump all my codecs then or just the Nimo pack?? I have several like Divx Mpeg4 and others or is it just the Nimo set I'm after. Also I am having trouble converting an X Vid file to VCD It has 5 chan stereo and I think an Ac3 codec Tmpge will not open the audio file but will open the video. I changed the evironmental settings for multi media to highest like someone elso told me but that did not work. Can't get Virtual dub to touch the audio either reads Unknown tag 2000 I think it is in ac3 codec do you know what I have to do to get this file to VCD format?? I'm stumped I'll try your suggestions and get back here in a few. Thanks for you helpComment

you can keep your codecs, as long as they are not from nimo...
What I would do is in Nandub:
1) Load the file into Nandub
2) Set both audio and video settings to "direct stream copy"
3) File-->Save wav
4) save wav with a new file (put a *.wav extension)
5) Load TMPGEnc and load the avi along with your new wav file in the audio loading part.Comment

Tried the Nandub thing.
It worked ok and I got the wav file set up
But Tmpge won't open the wav file. It says runtime error
I have the wav file reader plug in I just don't understand why Tmpge won't open the audio.
I can watch it and the audio is fine, but I can't convert it
Any Ideas??? I have graph editor and it says the video has the AC3 codec,,, is there an AC3 compressor like mpeg layer 3 or something like that ???Comment

the wav you made is actually an mp3 file that has a wav extensionComment

I reinstalled the TFM filter but it did not help.
I can Watch and hear the movie but I cannot convert it.
Tmpge will not open the Wav file.
I did raise the environmental settings and it did not help
I have the wav file reader plug in, and the direst show multi media plug in too.
Tmpge will not open the Audio file from the movie the way it is.
This Wav file is actually an MP3?? is there a way to get that to open??
I'm really confused and need help. I really would like to figure out how to convert this but I'm having alot of troublke with the audio.
