Download and install the Radium (hack of Fraunhoefer) .MP3 codec. Reboot your system, load the new file into VirtualDub and then follow Steps 5) and 6) from my last post - and save with a new filename.

If still out of synch, once again, do the following with the newest file version:

    A) If the difference between audio and video is constant throughout the video:

Load the file into VirtualDub, VirtualDubMod, or NanDub.
Set BOTH "Video" and "Audio" to "Direct Stream Copy".
From the "Audio" dropdown menu, select "Interleaving"
Under "Audio skew correction", set an appropriate number of milleseconds (positive or negative) in the box labelled "Delay audio track by"
    Save with a new filename

    B) If the difference increases as the movie plays:

From under the "Video" dropdown menu, select framerate - and select "Change so video and audio durations match"

*downloaded the codec from here http://www.softnews.ro/public/cat/11...1-1-2-10.shtml
      *installed
      *rebooting
      *done
      *doing 5&6 (chose 128bits 48khz (did i choose right?) - eek: 90 minutes!)
*ah.. done.. only took 30 mins though...

      still no change

im now adding audio skew: 1200ms
the first 10-15 minutes are okay now, but after a scene that features only music (so i dont know where it goes offsync) its already off sync for a bit, and it grows worse throughout the rest (as far as i can see)

so like i said before, it seems a combination of A & B.

ill try B now, and after that ill try both.

      no effect.

just a question though, for b, are they still supposed both to be on direct stream copy? if not, what to do when saving? (it says something about uncompressed avi file)

(also, you dont have PM on, so I can't send you the URL of the original for if you wanted to take a closer look)

      anyone else any ideas?

                  Try this instead:

Download software for playing and making DivX movies

Since I KNOW that each and every procedure I've suggested to you MUST have some effect on your video, I can only assume that you're unable to follow instructions properly (neither the software author's nor mine).

Perhaps some other poster can communicate the appropriate information to you in a way that you'll better understand...

Ofcourse i didnt mean "no" effect, but its remains off sync. The audio skew corrected quite a lot, but it slowly goes off sync again.

Don't forget it's a downloaded file, not made by myself.

I followed each instruction to the best of my knowledge. before saying it's my fault (wich IS possible by the way, I'm not saying that it isn't, but AFAIK I have done everything correctly), would you please take a look at the file for me?

It's located here: http://www.darkbulb.com/Lord of the Dance [DVDRIP] [DivX].avi (that's the original file like i downloaded it).

I know it's a lot to ask, but my mother is a great fan of them, and i want to give it to her as a gift (the original DVD is not for sale around here).

So IF you would take a look at it, I would be really gratefull .
If not, I understand, thanks anyway for taking so much time to help me.

Read your initial and additional posts to this thread. This is the FIRST time you've "bothered" to mention that your dealing with a illegal download of a COMMERCIAL video. Had you stated this initially, I wouldn't have even attempted to assist you!

ALL questions regarding downloaded videos should be posted in the "P2P" sub-forum here...

okay, sorry about that... but in my first post i stated that i didnt even know how it was codec.. that hinted to the fact that it wasn't mine, right?

anyway, thanks for the help, i'll go ask there... :s
