I'll just stick to GKnot. BTW, being able to use chapters is awesome, althought they are a bit off synch with the actual movie.

BTW, I've heard that the .srt subtitle file can also be contained in the .OGM file so that I don't need to burn 2 files onto the CD (up to no I used to burn the .avi and the .srt file seperately on the CD). Is that true ? If yes, how can it be done ?

And finally, how can someone calculate the overhead of the ogg audio ? I have read many threads about it but noone seems to have a way that always is on target.

      - adding srt into the ogm container can be done in vd_mod just like you would add audio streams!

ogm is a really powerful container format.
i did a title with 5 audio streams (2 languages + 3 commentary streams) + 2 subtitle streams + chapter infos of course.

      - calculating the ogg overhaed still seems to be a mystery. i havent come across a 100% formula, though DVX handles it quite well!

        1) Hmmm.... VirtualDubMod crashes when I load the .srt file into it. Bug perhaps ?

        2) In your guide here you are saying that "Don't worry about the delay part: BeSweet automatically takes care of the delay by extracting the delay information from the file name, which DVD2AVI has created" from which I understand that even if I don't check the Set Delay to... option in OTA, the delay will nevertheless be taken into account in the output ogg vorbis audio file. Is that correct ? Does the same happen if the output is mp3 and not ogg ? Or in case of an mp3 I should manually tell BeSweet to take the delay into account by clicking the corresponding option ?

even if I don't check the Set Delay to... option in OTA
NO - that option needs to be checked then besweet uses the proper delay (if present at all); the output format is irrelevant.

i actually thought besweet was checking this delay options itself, but maybe i'm mistaken and have my settings unchanged for ages.

Ok thanks. How about the crash of VDubMod while adding the .srt file ? Is it common ? A bug perhaps ?

dont know - never had it, never heard of it.

did you try a different version of vd_mod?

No. I just used the version that came with the latest GKnot. I will try to install the newest VDubMod and see how it goes.
