divx 5.0.2vs divx 5.0.3

I recently upgraded to Divx 5.0.3 and noticed something that I cannot seem to understand. When I encode my DVDs now, the picture is jitters. In other words the picture jumps like it pauses for a split second and then resumes. It is very annoying and I never had this problem when using Divx 5.0.2. Does anyone have similiar problems or know of a way to fix it? PS: I use n-pass encoding (stopping at 2) and all my settings are same in both versions.

divx 5.03 is pretty buggy. I prefer using the new 5.05 because it has stable results and to me is a bit better than the previous 5.02

the most popular codecs are the divx 3.11a, 5.02, and up and coming 5.05, and Xvid.

for the single purpose of playback you should NOT upgrade but use FFDSHOW as playbackfilter for all kinds of codecs like divx3-5, xvid or ms mpeg4 v1-3.
ffdshow provides best quality imho.

if you want to convert yourself, however, i'd most definitely advice you to upgrade to divx 5.05!

or try the latest divx codec called TAHANEA - i tried it yesterday and i'm very surprised by the quality of this *omega* state codec.

picture still jitters

i am still having the same problem. it turns out that it is something about the particular dvd that is a problem. i tried an interlaced dvd and it worked without issue. but when i attempt the progressive, anamorphic dvd i get the choppy picture. i made sre it is encoding as progressive, so what other setting am i missing here? i am using flask mpeg, do you think i should try gordian knot?

I think that you must only uncheck double buffering in divx configuration

i ended up using Dr. Divx and got the movie to encode without any jitter.
