This is going to sound like a very stupid question but is it possible to create a DVD from a Divx Movie for playing on a standard DVD player... If so can someone point me in the right direction !
1) Use "TMPGEnc" to convert the .AVI (DivX-compressed or otherwise) to compliant MPEG2-for-DVD format - Use "TMPGEnc's" DVD wizard/template to accomplish this (For UK, use the PAL version of the template)
2) Use "TMPGEnc DVD Author" v.1.5.11.37 (a different program than "TMPGEnc) to easily create the required additional DVD files and structure (and chapters and a menu, if you wish). If your O/S is either Win2000 or WinXP, TMPGEnc DVD Author can also burn your DVD. Otherwise, use NERO to burn in "DVD-Video" mode
You can use NeroVision to import your DivX, XviD movies and if you have a dvd-burner, it will convert and burn almost every movie. You must have the proper codecs installed on your system.
keep in mind, though, that turning an avi into an mpeg-2 DVD compliant format isnt the best choice!
this way your avis resolution will be upsampled and thus quality will decrease because hardly any avi will have a resolution of 720 x XXX
it will be far better to convert your avi into an mpeg-2 SVCD compliant format which can easiliy and without any further changes (and thus decrease of quality) be burned to dvd.
