Req: Making DivX with chapters seeking.

Is there a way to encode a whole film then playback it like a DVD skipping from a chapter to another without splitting the final avi file into several chapters?

Maybe using a sort of cue sheet file?

Yes it is possible with DivX but you can't use .avi then maby you should look after a new container format called .ogm it is possible with this container format to make chapters and add subtitles and more then one audio stream and so on.

It's really great believe me .
Let's all try to help each other

You have to use only DVX to get that format?

no, it doesnt really matter what tool you use to create the files (though i use DVX only as i like it best)

you simply have to mux audio, video (maybe subs) and chapter-informations into an OGM (or matroska) container.

        c.f. my ogg guide

or click on my DVX button

          ok,
How do I set DVX to ad chapters to my file, only setting DVDdecrypter DVX know I want chapters?,
I read this guide : English guide by giotis, don't say nothing about chapters, only says indicate dvddecrypter to get chapters info.

              BSPlayer rulez

I've found ChapterMaker that creates .chf files from the ifo file.
It's a simply txt file that BSPlayer opens automatically if it has the same name as the film.avi
It works fine and the program can create also a file called .cbf that contains thumbnails about each chapter.
BSPlayer can open this file also.
