has any one tried it out yet. if not ill be happy to give it a go around to night, and give my thoughts on it.
Gordian Knot w/ DivX 5.1.1

I have tried it but switched back to v5.05. It is tooooo slow. Slowest gave me an output of 6 fps on a P4 3.0gig! Although, over at DivX they claim that standard 5.1.1 = slowest 5.0.5 as far as speed is concerned but I didn't stick around to mess with it. I wanted my speed back. As far as the newest Gordian Knot goes, hold off on that because it seems to have a memory leak in it while doing a compressibility check w/ VdubMod (but not during the actual encode). So I downgraded that as well. Hope this was helpfull. -
weird.
i just finished testing mine. did a compressibility test at with these options.
512x368
little noise
Lanczos (Sharp)
Field Deinterlace
5% compressibility
Birate 1531
encoded first pass and second pass at 22.5 fps.
this is way faster then 5.1Comment

nah i didnt read any guides. as far as quality loss, i think 5.1.1 is a bit more crisp and clearer then 5.0.5.
For the codec settings i uncheck disable post prcessing, set automatic post processing to Full. Deringing and Deblocking to full.
Enabled Bi-Directional Encoding and GMC. I also had the divx profiles disabled, theres really no use for these.Comment

positive results
i have been doing my endoding with 5.1.1 and gknot. my fps is between 60-90, but will finish in the 60's. only problem here is with playback. i have dual monitors and i play a video on one monitor while playing a video game on the other. it used to work fine with 5.0.5, but now the video won't keep up with the sound.Comment

i highly doubt that. no offence but encoding takes about 90% of your processing power. Doesnt matter how fast your processor is.Comment

Actually I think it's highly possible as long as long as 60 fps is there to begin with. I have the same exact specs, I get between 45-80 fps but never up to 90...and mostly I'm in the 55-60 range (but w/ 5.0.5 not 5.1.1) and watching a movie while encoding doesnt' seem to slow it down by more than a few fps.Comment
