Heres my problem, i'm searching for someone w/ the same and i cannot find anything. I have the Divx 5 Pro codec. I have many others also such as xvid, cinepak etc.. I would like to encode shows that I record w/ my ATI AIW 9700 Pro with DivX. I have tried a bunch of differnt recording formats with no luck. If I use the DVD format one(mpeg-2) It looks great and is huge. I am able to encode a small file such as 1min from 70mb to 7. That works without a hitch. It is when i record an hour long show or movie that it craps out. Xvid will start to encode but soon crashes later. What the heck is the problem w/ this video I have put it into gspot but cannot find much help. Anyone have the same problem? I am using Xmpeg to do the encoding but have tried multiple programs to encode it also.
