    TMPGEnc and svcd file's size

Since a couple of weeks I have this problem in which I am not able to change the file size/bitrate etc. so I always get files which are to big to burn on a normal cdr. Untill a couple of weeks ago I was able to do so and I do not understand why it became impossible.
    Any ideas ??? thanks

are you sure you tried to burn your final files svcd compliant and not as e.g. iso??

I didn't come to burn it. The problem occurs already on the TMPGEnc level. I just cannot encode the film from avi to the mpeg because the file's size exceed the capacity of a normal cdr (an oparation I could do a couple of weeks ago)

Ye of course. I had no problems to do it. But then i tried to acctualize my windows media player which made the program not to work. I found then that by doing that somehow the divx and xvid codecs where uninstall. By installing them back the program turned to work but it does'nt allow me to change the file's size.

ye I have re-installed tmpeg without any results.

I will try now the dvd2svcd but from the first blick I have not found a function that allow me to define the output file size

I get no results, I got the same problem.
I think it has something to do with the codec packs. My system lost some codec (and I do not know which one).
Before I have reinstalled the codecs packs I could not use the tmpeg anymore. After installing them I could re-use the tmpeg but without being able to modify the size.
Contacting the tmpeg developer was not successful as they give service only to those who buy the program. But how should I buy it if it does'nt work properly ???

If your O/S is WinXP, try performing a "System Restore" back to the last time "Things were right"...
