    Help on encoding Divx

Okay, I'm new to this. I have followed the instructions on the following page numerous times, but I still get the same error each time.

    This is the page: http://www.divx-digest.com/articles/...rdianknot.html

When I try to get 14, I run the compressability check, and I get an error in Virtual Dub "The source image format is not acceptable".

What am I doing wrong? Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

    1) what is YOUR source format?

    2) i never used the compressability check, so try going ahead without it

Source format is a VOB ripped from a DVD. I can open the VOB file (it's only one file) and watch it from beginning to end in WinDVD.

If I don't do the compressability check, it crashes after it rips the audio.

I can open VirtualDub and convert movies that way but I can't using GordonKnot. I think I'm following the directions step by step, but it still crashes on me.

      Any suggestions?

This way always works for me when converting a dvd to divx.

        1. Use dvd shrink to shrink the movie and save to hard drive as an iso

        2. Load the iso in a virtual drive

        3. Convert the movie using Dr Divx using image in virtual drive as your video source

This way is very easy and looks great.
