    Maybe (Probably) I've misundestood what you're dealing with - perhaps because you started out referring to VirtualDub and .AVI. So let's start all over again.

    1) What is the format of your original file?
    2) What are you trying to accomplish?

      I have a stretched .mpg2 file that was created using Adatec's Videoh! USB 2.0 device in conjunction with Sonic's MyDVD 5.2 software. I want to convert this VHS video to a DVD. The info on the file from VirtualDub is:

      Video

      Frame Size = 720 X 480, 29.970 fps (33367uS)
      Fps = 47657 (26:30)
      # of I,P,B = 3178/12709/31770
      I Frame = 20016/50785/96880 (157614 k)
      P Frame = 12520/30627/98056 (380125 k)
      B Frame = 3792/20209/58112 (627015 k)
      Avg bit rate = 6000 Kbps (732 Kb/s)

      Audio

      Format = 48 kHz stereo, 1536 kbps LPCM
      # of frames = 49699
      Total size = 298194 k

      I was trying to use the information from Part I: Fixing Strecthed Audio that I received from my previous post, using the terabits program, but I believe the terabits program will only accept .avi files, which I don't have. How do I proceed??

      Thanks,

            I was able to use a program called FlaskMpeg and convert my .mpg file to an AVI file and now I am trying to follopw the steps from PartI: Fixing a Streched File, but when I right click on the AVI file I don't see an option to click on 'AVI information'. Am I missing something.

              To greenda4

              (I'm beginning to feel a bit dizzy ;>})

              A) If you presently have an MPEG2 that you wish to eventually burn as a DVD, you DO NOT want to convert the file to .AVI format!

              B) If the problem is that the audio is not synchronized with the video:

              You can resynch the MPEG2 file as follows:

              1) Load it into "TMPGEnc" (Different than "TMPGEnc DVD Author")

              2) Click on the "System" tab and set "Stream type" to "MPEG-2 Program (VBR)"

              3) From under the "Advanced" tab, put a checkmark next to and then double click on "Source Range"

              4) Enter an appropriate positive or negative amount of milleseconds (thousandths of a second) next to "Audio gap correct"

              5) Save with a new filename

              C) Then, to create your DVD:

              1) If not already DVD-compliant, use "TMPGEnc" (or "TMPGEncPlus") to convert the MPEG to compliant MPEG2-for-DVD format - Use "TMPGEnc's" DVD wizard/template to accomplish this (This step may not be necessary, if your MPEG-2 files are already in DVD compliant format)

              2) Use "TMPGEnc DVD Author" (a different program than "TMPGEnc") to easily create the required additional DVD files and structure (and chapters and a menu, if you wish)

              **If the combined filesize of the DVD "package" written to your hard drive is greater than 4.37Gb, use DVD Shrink (or similar) to compress

              If your O/S is either Win2000 or WinXP, TMPGEnc DVD Author can also burn your DVD. Otherwise, use NERO to burn in "DVD-Video" mode
              (As an alternative to "TMPGEnc DVD Author", you could use "DVDLab")

              Let us know of your success ;>}

                Thanks for your reply setarip. I used the TMPEGnc program, but it didn't work for me because I believe that my file is stretched not out of sync. Using the 'Audio gap correction' I but i a large value of +1200 msec and the first 5-10 secs seemed to be in sync, but as the file kept running, it fell back out of sync. This led me to believe that the file is strecthed. Therefore, I am trying to use the information on fixing a strecthed file found in the link sent to me from blutach. Is this making sense??

                  Use GoldWave's "Time Warp" to alter the length of the audiostream...
