    Audio Decoding Error

I attempted to convert the Godfather DVD collection to put it on a dvd. I used TMPGEnc I got the error:

An Error Occured when Audio was Decoded.

    How do I fix this?

Did you rip (copy and remove copy protection) the DVDs to your hard drive first?

if you want to 'put it on a DVD' why dont you try to use to original vob files?

use IfoEdit to get rid of any stream you DONT NEED (in order to reduce the size) and maybe you will have vobs that will be able to fit on a dvd!?

          Once again:

Did you rip (copy and remove copy protection) the DVDs to your hard drive first?

And, now that you've indicated that you're trying to create a VCD, have you used a conversion program (Flask, XMPEG, other similar) to create either a DivX-compressed .AVI or an MPEG1 file?

In order to provide more meaningful information:

              1) Load the file into VirtualDub

              2) From the "File" dropdown menu, select "File Information"

              3) Post (here) EVERYTHING you see (both video and audio information), or post a screen capture .jpg of the information box

If you are unable to do the above then, from within Explorer, rightclick on the file and click on "Properties". Select the "Details" tab. Although it won't provide as much information, post (here) EVERYTHING you see (both video and audio information), or post a screen capture .jpg of the information box.

your audio is not vcd compliant

extract the sound stream, convert it to wav and then use the wavefile in tmpeg

to extract the mp3 from your avi:
                  1. open the file in virtualdub/nandub
                  2. file => save wav (will save whatever audiostream is inside your avi)
                  3. process this mp3 file with any audioeditor of your choice

maybe you might even do the downsampling to 44.100hz (which is a must for VCD) in an audioeditor before saving to wav and then feeding this wav into tmpeg!
