    Wel listen up class!!!
    Your teacher will now learn you how to make a divx-movie on a very easy way
    For the wisecracks: yeah TmpgEnc is normally used for Divx > Mpg But it can do both ways...
    Just do the following in TmpgEnc:
    At Videosource find your video, for the rest leave everything...just go to file > batchencode > avi-file. Than you will get a screen like this: http://bartes.netherlands.com/TmpgEnc.jpg
    There you can choose a video-compression and an audio-compression. You can see what settings I used (of course you need to have the codecs
    Well that was it for todays lessons, have fun .....

    the problem i have with this is that "batch encode" will only allow me to enter in a preset project file.and where else in tmpg can you choose a divx codec?....anyone know what the heck is up with this??

    "where else in tmpg can you choose a divx codec?."

    "File">>"Output to File">>"AVI File"

    If you look carefully to the far right of the "Video" and "Audio" check boxes, you'll see the smallest slivers of radio buttons - which you can click on to change codecs/formats ;>}

      But why use TMPGENC to export/save the avi?

      use something like nandub/vidomi/virtualdub.

        thats amazing..that window is cut so that those buttons are barely in the frame...that guy is still only 1/2 right though cause he says to batch encode..you need to save a project first...and i already knew about the "output to avi" part.
        why do it with tmpg?dont know..i use vdub too for avi.i just wanted to know if this guy was right

          TMPG is better than VirtualDub in certain situations, such as converting a QuickTime file using the QTReader plugin into a DivX file. Also it is a little better at opening certain file-types, such as ASF, MPEG 1 and 2.
