    DivX Bitrate Question

Ok, I'm a bit of a newbie to DivX, and I got a problem.

I have a 352x240 DivX file, which I want reduced to 320x240. I used VirtualDub to do this. However, it is now 120meg, it used to be 64 meg...
Anyone know why this is? I came to the conclusion that it was the bitrate.

Anyone know how to view the bitrate of a DivX file?

    Thanks

A bitrate calculator should solve your problem.

      re

The bitrate calcaltors I have seen just let you calculate the bitrate of a metaphorical file.
Isn't there a way I can load up the movie I actually have, and it can scan the movie and tell me the bitrate?

        NO

due to the codecs varying/non-linear compression, one cannot calculate/guess the bitrate out of an existing avi file!

have you tried what enchanter suggested?
a bitrate calc should propose a halfway decent number.

on the other hand you could use nandub instead of vd let nandub take care of bitrate and filesize!?!?
