    filesize problem using nandub

    hey all

i've been trying to rip 'eyes wide shut' for the past 2 days, but everytime the rip is done, i get a divx file of about 400 mb , not very good quality, though i said i wanted a 2 cd rip of 700mb/cd.
when i play the movie in wmp it's +- ok, but in divxplayer it's pretty shocky and way too slow.

the dvd is regio 2, PAL 4:3

i'll briefly list the options i filled out in nandub

    -video bitrate:1060 kb/s
    -audio bitrate:192 kb/s
-resolution was 416 X 304, now i'm going to resize it in my new attempt to 544 X 400 (what's the best resolution to pick here? does it make a great difference to the final size of the avi?)
    -minimum allowed bitrate 460 kb/s
    -encoding errors: none

for the rest, i practically used all settings that are used in jaspov's nandub guide.

can anybody give me some advice plzz ?

    increase the res:

    www.technosoft2000.co.uk/divx (method 1)

the guide is NOT NOT perfect, but gives a ROUGH idea.

are you sure you did tell nandub to do a 2cd calculation instead of 695/700mb x 1???

i'd suggest the following changes to what i saw in jaspov's guide:

all meant for a 2 cd rip!

-in sbc options, first register card 'divx':

      minimum allowed bitrate: ~999!
      internal SCD: 96
      antishit settings: 16 -20 - 20

      -under 'bitrate':

      motion based curve modulation: 25%
      curve compression symetric: 25%
      luminance correction: DISABLED

      - 'motion'
      default settings!

      - same for 'gauge'

      - 'compression level':
      keyframe quality: min 2 - max 4

take a look at the nandub screenshots in my guide if you like!
