I have bought Nero 7 ultra and I was told as long as I register it all on line I can easily convert a mpeg2 to a avi that will play in windows movie maker. I have a project that I had already started there so I want to finish it before I start on Nero. Well needless to say I am hopeless I have looked and tried to convert it in Nero and it hasn't worked I am totally lost I don't even know where to look anymore. Any advise would be great. Thank you in advance.

IMO Virtualdub mpeg2 or Virtualdub mod is as good as any and better than most. If you're having video/audio sync problems demux the audio/video, encode the audio/video separately, mux the two back together. If the length of the audio and video aren't the same you can use a tool such as Audacity (free) to adjust the length of the audio. Their are a couple of settings in Vdub you can also use to try to adjust the audio. To get detailed instructions you should follow a guide untill you are more familiar with audio/video proceedures.Comment
