xvid to vcd how does it work?

    Hi there!

I've got a Problem, i got a movie from a friend and it was made with the xvid codec. I never heard before from this codec, so i download it, but now the movie doesn't run liquid (don't know if this is the right word, my english is very bad ) there are some stops in it, so I would convert it to vcd.

    Maybe someone can help me

    Thx DarkBlueMaster

and sorry for my bad english but i'll do my very best to learn it!

some links to free software that might be helpful.

Try avi2dvd. It works sometimes, and I see that others have a lot of luck with it. Sometimes I have ran into a wall.
Here's the link to the official page:

    Good luck.

is the only reason for this conversion the fact that your file doesnt run smoothly?

if so, maybe you should try FFDSHOW as your default playbackfilter instead of xvid or divx

i'm using ffdshow for years now and i strongly recommand to give it a try

i agree with UNcasMS, use fddshow if for playback only. but get rid of xvid first then, the two do not get along so well if you know what i mean
