audio video totally out of sync

another question not to get off subject but i saw somewhere in another post about divx playing in standalone players. how do i go about this. i tried burning them on a dvd through nero but it just came up with disc error on the dvd player.

Then your standalone does not support DivX/XviD.
As to your original problem, did you try SUPER ? Open your MPEG1 in SUPER. Then encode it as DVD compliant vob. See what happens.

ok i tried out super and it looks like the sound is on. the output file is just 1 vob file. do i just burn that then?

No.You will now need to Author it to get a proper Video_TS folder.
BTW,in SUPER,which encoder did you choose ? Mencoder or FFMPEG ?

mencoder just because thats what it was on. why? and how do i edit it so i can get it on a dvd?

You need a DVD Authoring software,like, TMPGEnc DVD Author.

TMPGEnc DVD Author is pretty straight forward.Open your vob/mpeg2 file in TDA and follow the instructions.You can even make a menu.Try it.It has a 14 day free trial period.
