Divx 3.11 and Divx 5.02

Heya.. I have Divx 5.02 installed, but have an avi that requires Divx 3.11 to be installed. Can i just install 3.11 without disturbing the 5.02 version? Or will one overwrite the other, or conflict?

Yeah, I did it without any problem. I just suggest you to install 3.11 prior to 5.x

i have MS 2 + divx3, 4 and 5 installed on two machines and it is no problem at all, though you might have problems playing divx3 or ms v2 with the designated codec and NOT have them play through divx5.

Do you know if they're planning to release a newer version of DivX 5, which does not interfere with 3.11 content playback?

Pity. I won't even dream of letting 5.x take over my 3.11a contents playback. I personally don't like the look of it and it will stay that way.
