    mp4 to avi

    Hey guys,

Read your previous posts on convering mp4 video to avi. I took your advice using YAMB to extract it but I when I do, I only get an avi video with no audio. What exactly do I have to do to get audio with my video. I'm pretty new to this ....

    Thanks,
    Jim

use the "extract track ID # in raw format", replacing # with the audio track ID. you'll end up with an aac file, assuming the audio is AAC.

then avi-mux gui to mux video & audio to new avi file

From recollection AVI-Mux GUI requires raw aac. I wouldn't recommend aac in an avi container anyway. If you want aac, then leave it as an mp4.

in case you want to turn the mp4 into an avi in order to be able to play this file on say a standalone dvd player then you will have to convert anyway

though not if its mpeg4 asp (seems like it is, no mention of an unplayble avi), some standalones support mp4 container.
