    Sorry- is that a program?

I'm just wondering why I can use PQ from a file and not the DVD - i.e., the menu doesn't work. Anyone know?

I just noticed in the directions it says choose DVD video if you're choosing a DVD rip - what's that as opposed to a DVD?

Not a deal breaker - but do you have an opinion on CloneDVD Mobile?

Very easy - but in converting The Wall, the dark sections are very, blotchy (I think that describes it).

clonedvd seems to be using mencoder. if encoding to mpeg4 avc/h264, up the inloop filter to 0,0 and increase the bitrate to ~700kbps should be enough. note that battery life will be shortened a little. if using mpeg4 asp just up the bitrate.

frankly $US 40 is ridiculous for what is just a GUI for an open source encoding app

I tried the highest settings with CloneDVD Mobile - and still blotchy!!

So, and sorry if this has been said (maybe by you) - I'm so confused but will master this if it kills me!! - what program should I use for DVD to Ipod? With that answer, I'll then learn it through a tutorial. Though I do want a simple solution, I also want quality!!

Ah - you said megui!!! And again, sorry, not sure why I'm so lost here - but where's the DVD to Ipod video directions - http://mewiki.project357.com/Guides:...nversion_Guide ? ?

Feeling really stupid now - honestlhy can't find the DVD to Ipod video section.

is there a simple guide to do just that. I'm looking to make the highest quality ipod video. The only guides I see have you convert DVD to 2 other formats before getting to ipod video.

One more thing. I'm looking for quality, and if Megui will give better quality than cloneDVDmobile, I'm all for it, i.e. no blotchiness in the dark sections of The Wall. If there'd be no difference, I'd rather go with the easier solution - even if it costs 40 bucks. If Megui will give me an almost perfect outcome - I'll learn it - if I can find a guide (feel really thick in this respect as I know it's on the megui wiki somewhere

as perfect as can be-- i get no artefacts at 750kbps ABR, inloop 0,0

I've downloaded the suggested codec pack - that safe?

Also, maybe I need to open the program first, but it didn't ask me to download the needed tools - does that just mean I have them?

After updating, 2 things come up with questions - ones about importing a profile and the other, I forget - what do I choose for both?

Also, lots of invalid paths when updating....
