ive downloaded both TMPGEnc and virtualdub to convert my asf files to anything else but when i try and open my asf file i get an error saying "asf file support has been removed at the request of microsoft" both programs say the same thing. what can i do about this??

1) VirtualDub version 1.3 (an older version) will not give you this error
2) To my knowledge, TMPGEnc does NOT generate this error - and is quite happy to convert .ASF files... -
asf conversion error
i have virtualdub 1.3 and for some reason it does say it, it says the exact same error with both programs. i take it youve never heard of it so i guess im just s.o.l huh?Comment

I certainly HAVE heard of this error - on all versions of VirtualDub 1.4 and HIGHER (except for the specially modified version of 1.4C). I have used version 1.3C MANY times to convert .ASF files...
Additionally, all of the free versions of TMPGEnc accept .ASF files for input...Comment
