XVID Playback Struggles

i need xvid help... i just recently downloaded some movies that require the xvid codec. i can not get them to work! when i play them, i only get a frozen frame that is a swirl of colors, but i do get audio (because i installed ac3 files). what can i do? i'm using Windows Me operating system.

Go get these codecs. Go download and install the Divx 5.0 codec and the XviD codec at www.dvix-digest.com. You really only need the XviD codec, but installing the Dvix codec will allow you to play most compressed .avi files.
