Annoying Problem with DivX Playback

Hi Guys,
I was hoping somwhere out there that two bright sparks could rub there wits together and help me out!!

I have an annoying problem in DivX playback that cause constant hiccups in playback. It is best described as a kind a pause then catch up of about a 1/4 second. This unlike most problems does not cause the audio to go out of synch so that (popular) issue is fine. I have the latest divx codec and have set the following in divx options:
quality level: minimum
film effect: off

and as i was saying before my overenthusiastic tabbing got out of control....
aspect ratio: origianl
smooth playback: off
yuv: off
overlay ext: on

Dbl Buffering: on


i have tried 640x800 at 32 and 16

have treid copying divx to hdd to stop glitch ... HELP!!!

all hadware excel is off in players....which all include power dvd wmp beta9 (and 7.1) windvd and divx player 2.02

system is :
Win2k (sp3)
900 duron
on soltek 75kav (kt133a)
