    Playback issues w/ The playa.

    okay, here's the story.
I downloaded the divx 5.0.2 bundle without really thinking.
(I was previously running 3.11 with the 0.6.4 playa.)
later that night I sat down to watch my Cowboy Bebop eps.
now, I skip ahead to my favorite part, and wtf! the sound's ahead of the animation.

now, I uninstalled 5.0.2 (I still had the 0.6.4 playa installed)
    and reinstalled 3.11
now, I get an error message in 0.6.4 saying to download the divx codec, and then it plays back fine, sound included, except its upside-down and flipped.

    what's wrong with it?

If you didn't Uninstall the 3.11 codec when you uninstalled the 5.02 codec, you may have altered a Registry setting by installing the 3.11 codec a second time.

I'd suggest that you uninstall the 3.11 codec (as many times as is necessary) and then reinstall it once...

      1) What O/S do you have on your system?

      2) Are you referring to Windows Media Player v.6.4 when you speak of "I still had the 0.6.4 playa installed", or a version of the DivX Open Source "Playa"?

      3) If you don't have WinXP as your O/S and you feel comfortable editing the Windows Registry, find the following key in the Registry:

      HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Scrunch\WMVid eo\Vertical Flip Packed YUV

and then set the DWORD value of this registry key to 1.

      4) If nothing else works, you can always use the Sasami player, which allows you to "flip" the video "on-the-fly"

Try either items 3) or 4) in my first response - or try playing the viseo(s) using the Windows Media Player v.6.4
