    Choppy playback with Media Player 8

    I've been using Media Player 8 & XP to playback DivX3 files for some time without a problem, then I foolishly decided to install DivX5!!

    Now playback of DivX3 with Media Player is really choppy, the frames appear to jump forwards then backwards. However playback is still ok when using the old media player 6.4 and BSPlayer.

    I would if possible like to use MP8 from time to time, so does anyone know if there's a fix for this problem?

      All versions of WMP after v 6.4 may experience problems playing back divx content. I am unaware of any "Fix"

              Problem Solved...

              I'm pleased to tell you that I installed Windows XP service pack 1 and now the problem is cured.

              Media Player 8 now plays DivX3, 5 and XVid without a problem.
