'fast-forward' in Windows Media Player

Hi all

I have an avi file and I want play it with Windows Media Player 'fast-forward' feature ==> it don't runs ==> play in normal mode (not 'fast-forward')

why some avi files plays good with 'fast-forward' and another ones not??

which is the difference??

- key-frames??

- codecs??

- avi file index ??

i think that if your trying to fast forward an avi and it crashes, this would normally indicate that there are a lack of key-frames within the avi
