    WMP Problems, Newbie in need.

I opened a XviD movie in WMP and it caused WMP to crash. I am almost certain I have all codecs needed to play to movie. The worst part is, now WMP crashes every time I try and open any file, including normal DivX and mp3 files. I am running Win2K and the problem originally occured on the default version of WMP that comes with it (can't remember the exact version). I then upgraded to WMP v7 and the same thing happened. "media player has generated errors and will be closed by windows" or something like that. I even tried the movie on another machine with the same results. I finally got the movie to lay on a WinXP machine but I am still left with 2 machines that can't open any files in WMP. Any ideas??

    Cheers,

P.S. Is it possible to encode a XviD as a normal DivX.

Re-installed DirectX. Still the same. Any other ideas?
