divx 5.0.2 codec doesn't show up in list of avi choices in tmpeg

i want to output to an avi file using tmpeg, but for some reason the divx codec does not show up as an output codec once i do all the stuff to output to avi. don't know why i heard this is a common problem but have'nt seen how to fix. And no i can't use virtualdub for this for those that would suggest so.

that's not quiet it

the divx codec is installed corectly i can encode in it when using virtualdub i just can't select it as an avi codec when i want to output to avi using tmpeg. this is really frustrating me

You are probably being deceived by not seeing the ever-so-thin sliver of a radio button to the right of the video codec selection box (same thing regarding the audio codec selection). Click on it and a dropdown menu will appear.
