    S/PDIF enabled -> Video overspeed

Each time I try to watch an AC3 DivX, with the S/PDIF enabled (I want AC3 to be externaly decoded), the video is overspeed.

This happens whatever the AC3 directshow filter I use (Intervideo, Cyberlink, Ac3filter).

AC3 sound is correctly received by my external decoder, problem is video.

If I disable S/PDIF (AC3 decoded by my soundcard), everything is fine.

Does anyone know what to do ?

    My configuration :
video card : GE Force 2 MX dual display (TV out)
sound card : Fortissimo III 7.1
    PC : Pentium 3, 1Ghz
    OS : W98SE
    RAM : 512 Mo
    DirectX : 8.1

I have exactly the same problem!

It doesn't happen all the time, usually it starts after 10 minutes, then more often. Maybe it's the video that is running a little bit slower than the audio, and because the audio speed is fixed then it uses a external ac3 decoder, then video has to resync and it looks like overspeed. Thats what I think... but how do I get the video to sync with audio all the time??

ANYONE got any ideas? There must be thousands of peaple having this problem or??

    Anyway, this is my configuration:
    Celeron 1200, 512mb ram.
    Geforce 4 ti4600, or Matrox G400 dualhead.
    Soundblaster Live! Value, S/PDIF out.
    Divx 3.11, 5.02, Intervideo AC3 filter.
    WinXP Pro SP1 - Swedish.
    Media Player 6.4

I've tried a bounch of other players with the same result. This doesn't happen when the computer is doing the AC3-decoding. And it plays DVD's with AC3 routed through S/PDIF just fine.
