    M2V->divx: problem stripping audio

    I've got some M2Vs with the audio built-in. (What's the term for that? I'm somewhat of a newbie.) I'm converting them to divx with the Gordian Knot package, and I'm having trouble with the audio.

    As far as I can tell, Gordian Knot requires a separate audio file. I don't see any other way to do it.

    Regardless, I already have the video converted to a divx AVI file. I can combine the audio and video with Nandub, but first I need to extract the audio and get it into an mp3.

    I tried using the Demultiplex option in TMPGEnc, and it seemed to work fine, mostly--it gave me an MP2, so I have to convert to MP3, losing some quality. I can live with it, if there's no way around it. But, the MP2 cuts off half-way through. It just ends.

    So, is there a better way to extract the audio from an M2V into an MP3? Or, is there a way to do this entirely within Gordian Knot?

    "I've got some M2Vs with the audio built-in."

    These would be MPEG-2 videos.
    Both Flask and Mediator should be able to convert such files (video and audio simultaneously) to DivX-compressed .AVI files...
