    Red Dragon Xvid problem!!!!!!!!!

I read all the threads and I also gave some helpfull tips about messy green blurry movies and still I can't solve that Xvid movie problem....
I get the green and messy movie quality when playing, but when installing the fddshow it removes the green but still the movie is splashed all over it is messy....
usualy I removed the fddshow to solve the green and blurry movie, but this time I tryied to do as others said and installed the fddshow , as I said it removed the green but not the messy part....
What the hell should I do???

    Man this is crazy.
I have the same prob, with the same movie, have done the same things as you and even have other movies with the same type of codec that work fine.
This one is for a Xvid god to solve.
    The type of codec is,

    Xvid.DVDScreener-Repack.dcn.avi
With the program, AVIcodec it tells me that the
    v.codec is Xvid-Mpeg-4
    A.codec is AC3 - DVM

The movie the ring is the same and I see it fine. Can there be a diference?

Thanks for any future help on this.

Same problems as above. I used to have green, that went when i installed fddshow. Now only in this film to date do i have blue and red smudging. Tried every setting in fddshow yet no joy. Perhaps it's a bad xvid rip?

      Help!

        Re: All

        Try using Koepi's plain vanilla decoder . . .

Use the divx 5 decoder to playback xvid.

To do this, download the avi4cc changer and change the fourcc codec description and used to dx50

            Re: Batman & others

Beware that playing back using DivX 5 codec may not result in optimal playback.

The divx 5 decoder certainly uses great system resources, however from my experience it can eliminate the "green" and "pixelatation".

At last all is fixed. I downloaded DIVX Total Pack 1.2 from this very site, or the link was from this very site. The pack includes all divx and xvid video and audio codecs plus some other stuff. I did get an XP software not tested warning but ploughed thru all the same. So now even the dodgy Red Dragon works perfectly.

                Heres the link
Download the DivX Total Pack, a collection of all the frequently used codecs and filters

The link is to an Italian site and finding the word for save and download this file took a while.

If anyone has problems finding it as their Italian is iffy i could email it as its only1.3mb
