No sound

When I watch the movie that I ripped and everything, it tells me that I don't have sound. I downloaded GSpot,and it told me that there was a problem with with sound, which was already quite apparent. I downloaded a couple of ac3 filters and whatnot, but still no good. Sound would be nice with my movies. Thx.
